RINA has been acting according to Directive 94/25/EC since 1996; a dedicated Pleasure Craft Section has been set up and is a member of RSG (Recreational craft Sectorial Group), established to assist in the uniform application and interpretation of the Recreational Craft Directive by all notified bodies and other parties with valid interest.
RINA "Pleasure Craft EC assessment" offers designers and manufacturers a useful set of tools to facilitate the assessment of EC Directive compliance.
Type Approval is a certification of products approved or type tested in application of RINA rules and/or international standards.
