Electrical installations Italian law 462/01
The "Rules for the simplification of the procedure for the declaration of installations and protection systems against atmospheric discharge, earthing systems of electrical installations and of hazardous electrical installations", which entered into force on 23 January 2002, places the onus on the employer to have the plants subjected to periodical inspection.
This is to ensure employee safety in the workplace.
The responsibility for doing this is without doubt easier to bear if the body chosen to carry out the inspections has a consolidated structure and tradition in the sector.
Italian decree (DPR) 462/01 legitimises bodies licensed by the Ministry for Production Activities, as well as the local health authorities/environmental agencies, to perform the above verification activities.
RINA S.p.A., active since 1861 in the field of ship safety is one of the oldest certification societies and is accredited by the Ministry of Production Activities for the whole of Italy.(Official Gazette no. 144 dated 21/06/02)
